Who we are
We are a group of local residents in the area around Alice Bright Lane that are opposed to development of our few remaining green spaces.
Alice Bright Lane is a unique area that is home to one of very few Ancient Woodlands in Crowborough. It is home to a vast array of wildlife, including a number of protected species. It is a narrow country lane with blind corners, poor alignment, and operates at national speed limit, without any pedestrian facilities. The majority of Alice Bright Lane is undisturbed woodland, priority habitat and agricultural land, interspersed by a few houses that were built many many decades (and in some cases hundreds of years) ago.
Formed in response to a rise in planning activity in the Alice Bright Lane and broader Wealden area, we seek to:
- Make residents aware of planning proposals that may affect them
- Raise awareness and campaign against harmful developments that destroy our remaining green spaces and wildlife habitats
- Represent the feelings and views of the community to local councillors, planning officers and planning committee members
- Operate as a co-ordinated group to robustly oppose harmful developments through all available means
